Delray Medical Selects Residents for New Neurologic PT Residency

Apr 16, 2015
Delray Beach, Fla. (April 16, 2015) – Pinecrest Rehabilitation Hospital at Delray Medical Center, in collaboration with Nova Southeastern University, is proud to introduce the two residents accepted into its Neurologic Physical Therapy (PT) Residency Program.

Jennifer Lombardi and Donna Tadena were selected from a highly qualified and motivated pool of applicants. They began the 12-month residency program in August 2014.

“This partnership will allow us to further develop the knowledge, skills and attributes of Nova’s top scholars through our new Neurologic PT Residency Program,” said hospital CEO Mark Bryan. “We are confident that this program will mold these residents into highly skilled neurologic clinical practitioners.”

The Nova Southeastern University-Pinecrest Rehabilitation (NSU-PRH) Neurologic PT Residency Program is one of only three neurologic PT residency programs in the state of Florida and is the only neurologic PT residency program in South Florida.

The program combines opportunities for one-on-one clinical mentoring and didactic coursework based on the American Physical Therapy Association’s Description of Specialty Practice in Neurology. The curriculum is designed to prepare residents for the Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS) certification exam through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.

The program is currently seeking accreditation through the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education. For more information on the NSU-PRH Neurologic PT Residency Program, please visit www.nova.edu/chcs/pt/residency.
