Director of Trauma Services Receives National Honor
Nov 10, 2015Delray Beach, Fla. (November 10, 2015) — Margaret Crawford, the Director of Trauma Services at Delray Medical Center, earns national recognition for 35 years of continuous CCRN certification. This specialty certification reflects the dedication Crawford exemplifies as she provides direct bedside care to acutely/critically ill adult, pediatric and neonatal patients and their families.
Awarded by the Certification Corporation for the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, CCRN certification is one of the most advanced professional credentials that can be achieved by a nurse in the field of acute and critical care.
“We are proud of Maggie for embodying a culture of professionalism and maintaining this certification for over three decades,” said Jennifer Chiusano, chief nursing officer at Delray Medical Center. “She performs her job with humility and integrity and is largely responsible for shaping our Level I Trauma Center into what it is today.”
There are currently more than 104,000 CCRN-certified nurses’ practicing worldwide who specialize in the care of adult, pediatric, and/or neonatal patient populations. Crawford is one of only 138 CCRNs being honored this year.
The achievement of CCRN certification serves as a tangible demonstration of the individual’s commitment to patients, families, employers and colleagues alike. Further, the certification may be linked to higher levels of job satisfaction, clinical knowledge, experience and skill.
