Delray Medical Center Healthgrades 2018 50 Best Hospitals Award
Feb 27, 2018Delray Beach, FLA (February 27, 2018) – Delray Medical Center receives the Healthgrades 2018 America’s 50 Best Hospitals Award™. The distinction makes Delray Medical Center one of the top 1% of more than 4,500 hospitals assessed nationwide for its consistent, year-over-year superior clinical performance as measured by Healthgrades, a leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals. Delray Medical Center has made this list for the last 12 years, since the inception of the award.
“People in our community have a choice as to where they will go for their care, and this recognition is confirmation that our hospital has proven to be one of the best in our area when it comes to clinical excellence,” said Mark Bryan, CEO at Delray Medical Center. “Accolades such as this make us unique to our patients.”
From 2014 through 2016, patients treated in hospitals achieving Healthgrades America's 50 Best Hospitals Award™ had, on average, a 26.2% lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive this award, as measured across 19 rated conditions and procedures where mortality is the outcome.* During this same period, if all other hospitals, as a group, had performed at the level of America’s 50 Best Hospitals Award™ recipients across these 19 procedures and conditions, 179,464 lives could potentially have been saved.*
The 50 recipients of the America’s 50 Best Hospitals Award™ are distinguished for overall clinical excellence across a broad spectrum of care. During the 2018 study period (2014-2016), these hospitals showed superior performance in clinical outcomes for patients in the Medicare population across at least 21 of 32 most common inpatient conditions and procedures —as measured by objective performance data (risk-adjusted mortality and in-hospital complications).
