Feb 17, 2022

West Palm Beach, FL – St. Mary’s Medical Center, part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is adding the GE Innova IGS 630 Configuration Biplane Imaging System for interventional neuroradiology procedures. St. Mary’s Medical Center is the first hospital in Palm Beach County to have this new technology. This new innovative system allows doctors to see both 2D and 3D imaging solutions for the head, neck and spine.

“As a GE Neurointerventional national show site, St. Mary’s Medical Center has always been at the forefront of neuroscience care in this community. By having this new biplane room, it will provide the very best treatment for patients who need immediate neurologic care,” said Dr. Ali Malek, medical director of neurosciences at St. Mary’s Medical Center. “Whether it’s for an ischemic stroke, treating an aneurysm, or cerebrovascular disease, this technology creates higher quality images in real time so we can provide the appropriate care needed for our patients.”

Some of the benefits of the IGS 630 includes:

  • High definition 3D imaging for neuro interventions
  • Improves outcomes with augmented reality guidance
  • Includes the first AI imaging chain to optimize dose and imaging quality
  • Large display monitor with increased capability and customization for image review

“St. Mary’s Medical Center prides itself on being a top comprehensive stroke center, serving the greater Palm Beach County community. This technology shows the continuing investment we are making in our neurosciences program for patients who come to our hospital,” said Cynthia McCauley, chief executive officer of St. Mary’s Medical Center & Palm Beach Children’s Hospital. “When it comes to matters of the brain, time is of the essence. This technology will allow our clinicians even faster and better ways to care for those needing emergent neuro care.”
