Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center names Erik Cazares as its new Chief Executive Officer

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fl.- Erik Cazares is appointed to the position of chief executive officer of Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, effective July 1st, 2024. In this role, Cazares will be responsible for overseeing all strategic, operational and clinical activities at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.

“Erik is an executive with more than 16 years of healthcare leadership experience. He will build upon the growth and development initiatives already underway at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center,” said Maggie Gill, group president for Tenet Healthcare’s East Coast region. “We look forward to Erik joining the Palm Beach Health Network and our community.”

Cazares comes to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center from Tenet’s sister facility, The Hospitals of Providence Sierra Campus, in El Paso, TX, where he served as the Chief Executive Officer.  His tenure at The Hospitals of Providence began in 2001 when he joined Sierra Medical Center, now Sierra Campus as a Registered Nurse. In 2008, he transitioned into his first healthcare leadership position.  Over the course of his career, he has had oversight and responsibilities over multiple inpatient hospital departments and led the strategic implementation of service lines including cardiac, orthopedics and oncology. In 2018, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer at East Campus before being promoted to Chief Executive Officer of The Hospitals of Providence Sierra Campus. His experience partnering with physicians to develop and grow clinical programs will be an asset to future growth at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.

He received his BSN degree from The University of Texas at El Paso and a Masters in Nursing Administration degree from Texas Tech University.
