West Boca Medical Center Recognized with 10 Clinical Achievements from Healthgrades

West Boca Medical Center announced today that it has achieved numerous accolades for clinical excellence from Healthgrades, one of the top sites Americans use when searching for a doctor or hospital. Among West Boca’s distinctions are two Excellence Awards, one for gastrointestinal care and the other for gastrointestinal surgery and placing in the top 10% of hospitals in the nation for overall GI services and gastrointestinal surgery. West Boca Medical Canter was also rated five stars for six services, including colorectal surgery for the 3rd year in a row, treatment of bowel obstruction, treatment of sepsis for the fourth year in a row, treatment of respiratory failure for the 3rd year in a row, and for the ninth year in a row for both vaginal and C-section delivery.

“Healthgrades’ recognition of our hospital reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff,” said Jerad Hanlon, West Boca Medical Center’s CEO. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in our patients’ lives and strive for excellence in every aspect of care.”

West Boca Medical Center’s achievements are based solely on what matters most: patient outcomes. As part of its 2025 hospital assessment, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for over 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide to determine the top performers in specialty care. By offering easy access to objective performance measures, Healthgrades helps consumers find and select a hospital that excels in providing the care they need.

As variation in performance among hospitals continues to grow, it is increasingly important for consumers to seek care at top-rated programs. Healthgrades’ 2025 analysis revealed that if all hospitals as a group performed similarly to five-star hospitals during the 2021-2023 study period, on average, 224,958 lives could potentially have been saved and 141,692 complications could potentially have been avoided.*

“Healthgrades commends West Boca Medical Center for their clear commitment to delivering consistently superior patient outcomes in critical service areas, including gastrointestinal, critical care and OBGYN,” said Brad Bowman, MD, chief medical officer and head of data science at Healthgrades. “West Boca Medical Center’s leadership, expertise, and unwavering dedication to clinical excellence set a high mark for specialty care in Florida and nationwide.”
